It has been since 2010, nearly 3 years, actually, since the first ever Chromebook video that as released. It has come a long way now and finally we’re seeing the first ever video of the third generation Chromebook by Google.
This video alone showed us how the laptop will look like. It resembles an ad particularly, or not so particular – just all ads by Apple. Don’t get me wrong though, I love the design of the Chromebook, but one thing is that I’m not too sure about the form factor, though Google stated it’s made in a 3:2 aspect ratio, optimized for the web.
However, the lights on the lid, which Google calls it the Lightbar, definitely looks cool. Here’s what Google has to say about it.
Yes, I think so too!The display itself is made with a 2560×1700 pixel resolution capacitive touch screen under a 13 inch form factor, making it 239 pixel density. Runs on Intel i5, 4GB of RAM but only 32GB of flash storage (that’s SSD, if you’re wondering).
The price? Well let’s just say it’s a little absurd for Google to price it so.
Chromebook Pixel costs $1,299 for WiFi-only variant and $1,499 for LTE variant.
That’s approximately RM4030.80 and RM4649.15 respectively.
Obviously the Chromebook Pixel is created to stack against its rival, the Apple MacBook Pro with Retina Display and also a lot of PCs in the market.
What do you think? Is it too expensive? Does the features it offer cloud the price?

For the fun and just because I can, let’s watch the first ever Google Chromebook video that was posted in 2010.
