It is fair enough to say mid-range smartphones have a huge role to fill because they are taking the once baby steps of innovative technology and transforming them into widely accessible mainstream features.
Thanks to the maturity of process node technologies, not only are the chipsets are getting more powerful and efficient but the 5G modem that enables super-fast and low-latency Internet speed, is no longer a rich boy’s toy thanks to recent mid-tier SoCs basically having that function baked into the silicon and a majority of them, if not all of them, are already efficient in nature so if you top it off with some strong camera parts, you can expect them to sell like hotcakes.
And that’s what the Redmi Note 11 series has been doing over the course of February. There were four launched in that month alone, and we are here to talk about the 2 remaining guys – the Redmi Note 11 Pro+ 5G and the Redmi Note 11S 5G – and why you should own one.
5G is here, and it is here to stay
Big telcos in Malaysia have already started to roll out 5G services so it is going to replace 4G as the main player in the mobile network sector. Packing speeds and latency that rivals even the strongest fiber connection, you can enjoy all of these without shelling out tons of money as you ride the 5G wave together with either the Redmi Note 11 Pro+ 5G’s MediaTek Dimensity 920 chipset for some extra power or the Redmi Note 11S 5G’s MediaTek Dimensity 810 that covers daily digital needs with ease.
Additionally, both devices support dual SIM cards and, yes, that’s dual 5G SIM card slots. You can swap between two different telco’s 5G coverages to enjoy limitless online content anywhere you go – and hopefully at the best prices too.
Gotta go fast – Refresh rate, charging speed, everything!
Life in the digital era is tough. We want everything to be as fast as possible and waiting is just cheap. But what’s not cheap is the screen and power tech given to the Redmi Note 11 smartphones like the Redmi Note 11 Pro+ 5G houses a 6.67-inch FHD+ AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate and 360Hz sampling rate for buttery-smooth transition and responsive inputs powered by the 4,500mAh battery is that capable of getting fully charged in just 15 minutes via the proprietary 120W fast charge tech!
On the other hand, the Redmi Note 11S 5G is not too shabby either because it gets a bigger battery at 5,000mAh battery to keep your device lighted up all day long without worrying.
Smile for the 108MP camera
How can we talk about Redmi devices without giving them credit for raising the bar of digital imaging for smartphones that people can actually afford? Yes, the Redmi Note 11 Pro+ 5G is one of the guys that have these cameras:
- Main: 108MP f/1.8
- Ultrawide: 8MP f/2.2
- Macro: 2MP f/2.4
And that main camera is also equipped with Samsung’s HM2 sensor with dual native ISO renowned to churn out quality photos and videos even in low-light conditions.
Not a camera guy? Well, the Redmi Note 11S 5G’s got you covered with a simpler camera setup:
- Main: 50MP f/1.8
- Ultrawide: 8MP f/2.2
- Macro: 2MP
