Jabra has revealed a new environmental sustainability initiative today that aims to deal with the plastic problems of the sea.

Jabra Enviromental Sustain 2022 2

Aquatic lives threatened by plastic waste are already decade-old news but with the presence of microplastics detected within human blood, it should be obvious enough to say that the issue needs to be tackled and controlled as soon as possible. That’s why Jabra is going to engage in marine conservation at the size of 62,000 football fields, or 450km² for the metric freaks. The engagement will be executed via fund donation towards parties that involve in protecting critical species and the livelihoods of people in Asia-
Pacific who depend on the ocean.

Jabra also recapped what they have done in 2021 for sustaining the overall ecosystem which included:

  1. 4,777 tons of e-waste recycled
  2. Reduce the carbon footprint of Jabra products in terms of product packaging, distribution, and disposal
  3. Upheld the act of human rights safeguards to comply with the UN Principles of Responsible Business
  4. Excluded conflict minerals from mining in military-controlled regions via the five-step due diligence guidance laid out by the Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD)

And logically speaking, the brand will be continuing to do so for this year as well in addition to tackling the ocean plastic problem so kudos to them for setting an example for other competitors to learn and follow suit.
