Recently, Apple’s iMovie and Final Cut Pro has been updated to the latest version to accommodate the new Apple Silicon a.k.a M1 while amping the user experience by adding a couple of new features.
First up is iMovie’s official entrance to version 3.0 which is like a major update for the video editing software and Apple has added a couple of new functions, namely Storyboards and Magic Movie, aimed to help more people specifically newcomers to get started with video creation and editing.
With Storyboards, users can get a head start in their project by utilizing one of the 20 different storyboard templates that include a variety of genres including video games, cooking, news reports, Q&As, and more with each keyframe consisting of detailed shots for users to understand and refine upon through the use of different styles and color palettes.
Want to take the automation game to a higher level? You can do that with Magic Movie now where you can just pop in your desired video files and the algorithm will figure out what your content is about and identify which part should be the highlight and what shots are the best in addition to pairing them with the best transition, titles, and associated music. When you think the production time of #shorts is short enough, how about trying it with Magic Movie.
On the other hand, Final Cut Pro 10.6.2 now natively supports the detection of dupe footage to alleviate the problem of fat fingering the pasting shortcut. With the power of AI denoising, background noise levels can now be adjusted to improve the clarity of speeches which is super useful for editing live recordings about talks and discussions. Hardware optimization-wise, the software is now fully geared for M1 Max and M1 Ultra so enjoy the superior rendering speed and operation smoothness with the latest Mac Studio running up to 56 4K ProRes 422 streams or 18 of them at 8K.
