The title says it all – the humongous screen really is a huge boon for those who need a large canvas to illustrate or to do any sort of work that can benefit from a large screen. But of course, that’s not all – I am glad to present that after using it for about a month, I have come to realize the Galaxy Tab S8 Ultra’s true strength.
You see, this tablet’s big, beautiful 14.6-inch Super AMOLED screen is only part of the equation. The inclusion of the S Pen with its latest technologies and reduced latency down to only 2.8ms is also another huge boon. I personally do prefer Samsung’s S Pen since it has a softer tip at the front and it is also more comfortable to grip while writing or drawing.
Plus, since Samsung tablets are already very mature with their active stylus technology, we can already start drawing using the Samsung Notes app too. It’s free and syncs to your Microsoft OneDrive if you choose to do so.
I usually sketch a bunch of ideas – sometimes even illustrations or diagrams to be used in videos on the Samsung Notes app, then synced across the internet via OneDrive to my laptop. Then, I use those drawings I made to integrate into videos to provide better understanding. A picture (in this case, an illustration) is better than a thousand words, right?

One of the more special apps I found out about is Concepts. It’s an app that is catered for the usual digital illustration and even for schematics or vector sketches too. It’s more catered towards engineers.
Just… don’t ask me what I’m drawing here.

If the Samsung Notes app is not your cup of tea, then you can also opt for other alternatives too – like a special version of Clip Studio Paint that you can find on the Galaxy Store, or maybe you can try out Tayasui Sketches too. Of course, there is Autodesk Sketchbook if you want to use that.
To ensure the comfort for writing or drawing, the kickstand of the Galaxy Tab S8 Ultra can go all the way down – making it more ergonomic for our eyes, hands, and neck to actually look at the screen while our hands rest on the screen to draw. Sure, the kickstand might bounce a little – but I’m okay with it.

And once we’re done, the S Pen can be slotted at the back and covered by the case. It’ll never fall off and I will never have to worry about losing the S Pen at all. So much better than having the pen free-hanging at the side, no?
