It was a big surprise when Google announced that they are soon releasing the famous wearable computer, Google Glass. So far, we’ve only seen them in videos and prototype form. Google says that the Glass is expected be out in the wild by the end of 2013.

Google now have given the opportunity to developers to get their hands on the Glass at Google New York. The final version are expected to be cheaper than their developer’s offering.
“Well, we finally have official word from Google that it is aiming to release a ‘fully-polished’ version of the wearable headset to consumers by the end of this year. The company has also informed us that Google Glass will cost ‘less than $1,500′ when it goes on sale.”
Google is also partnering with Warby Parker to include prescription frames and will come in multiple colours and designs.
According to The Verge who had their hands on one of those Glass, the method to interact with the Glass is by voice commands and a touchpad. The Glass will respond when you say “okay, Glass” just like they did in this Google’s official video.
It responds to natural voice commands but for now, the voice command works like a hit and miss.
The Glass is however, not a standalone device but it’s rather an accessory for Android and iOS devices. The Glass can connect with either WiFi or Bluetooth to the host device.
The most exciting part is how you can take picture and videos hands free. Below is a picture of the bare electronics.
The Glass is expected to be sold around the end of this year at an estimated price of less than USD 1,500(RM 4652) which is about the price of a brand new, above average computer.
