Xiaomi has officially launched the highly anticipated 12S Ultra which is equipped with Sony’s one-inch sensor, a huge Leica camera on its rear, as well as the latest Snapdragon chipset.
Powered by the Leica camera on its back, the 12S Ultra features an 8P aspheric lens that greatly reduces flare, ghosting, chromatic aberration, and other common issues while taking pictures. The 50.3MP 23mm wide-angle camera is equipped with a large 1-inch Sony IMX989 sensor, allowing a much more detailed image to be taken.
Furthermore, the other two cameras on the back are the 13mm f/2.2 ultra-wide camera and the 120mm f/4.1 periscope telephoto camera, which both come with a 48MP Sony IMX586 half-inch sensor.
Speaking about the smartphone bits of the 12S Ultra, it comes with a 6.73-inch AMOLED of 1,440 x 3,200 resolution with AdaptiveSync Pro support and an IP68 rating scratch and splash resistance.
The smartphone is powered by the latest Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 chipset which has 30% improved power efficiency and 10% in GPU and CPU performance compared to the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1.
