Let’s face it – Nokia running the Android operating system is what we’ve all been longing for since the birth of the Droid army. Sadly, Nokia wasn’t keen about Android and eventually suffered a great market loss, which Microsoft then paid up “more than $1b” to Nokia as a form of partnership that conceived the Lumia series that we have today.
Nokia running Android is the dream that we all have in common, and leaked news stated that a device codenamed Normandy is actually Nokia’s answer to that dream – though not what we’re all dreaming of. It’s an Asha-based Nokia phone – that is the lowest of low end phones from Nokia’s touch screen devices – and not the all-high-end Lumia variant with its amazing camera. It might be that Nokia is just releasing the Normandy to test the waters, but I’m sure that Nokia won’t be able to sample the true potential of the Android-Lumia potential with just its Android-Asha phones.
That aside, it might never even be on market thanks to Nokia’s controversial Mr. Stephen Elop that literally sold Nokia entirely to Microsoft – including the Asha product line – while benefiting himself to become the potential CEO, replacing Steve Ballmer.
All the above are rumours if not speculation, so take it with a pinch of salt, though the speculation is near accurate in this case. Seriously, who doesn’t want the Lumia camera on an Android smartphone?
