Kingston is outdoing itself again in the latest round of TrendForce data analytics done on the global market share ranking of branded SSDs in 2021.

TrendForce Kingston SSD Shipment 2021Calculated from the total units shipped at 127 million, Kingston is among that 26% which places it way ahead of the competition where the 2nd place ADATA doesn’t even come close at just 8%.

While last year is still within the pandemic phase of COVID-19, that doesn’t really slow down the production of SSDs as more electronic devices like laptops are sought after due to the rise of WFHs and online education.

Kingston also took note of the rising demands of PCIe 4.0 drives that provide even more speed to users like gamers and professionals that seek the fastest loading times possible so there’s that.

Coupled with the ever-growing maturity of the flash storage manufacturing process, the value of SSDs particularly the SATA drives are creeping ever so closely to mechanical drives in terms of their price per GB ratio while factoring in the almost 5x higher speed than spinning HDDs.
