The Galaxy S23 Ultra has all of the usual upgrades on paper – brand new Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset and whatnot – that’s what we expect. Fantastic performance to keep up with the latest and most demanding games – the Galaxy S23 Ultra can do it too.

Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra review

For the entire series of Galaxy S23 Ultra smartphones, they’re all using the new Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset across all regions of the world. Moreover, there is also a special “Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 for Galaxy” logo which actually means they are overclocked. However, the overclock is very slight to the point that I’ll consider it negligible.

But, the results speak for themselves. As we can see from the gaming test, the Galaxy S23 Ultra is amazing when it comes to high-end games like Genshin Impact. With the “alternate game performance management mode” enabled, even at the highest graphical settings at 60fps, we can get about 55fps average and that is truly impressive.

Samsung also used Wreckfest as a part of their main highlight for the S23 series and from our gaming test with maxed out settings and uncapped frame rate, it hovers around 80-100fps and that is surprisingly good. That means the entire game can run above 60fps all the time – and that will be a very smooth gameplay experience overall.
