The Nokia X surprised us all with something truly unexpected during MWC last week. The phone itself was totally different from what everyone had hoped it would be, and was led to a great disappointment.
Hopping on to the specs :
- 4-inch IPS display with 800×480 pixels
- 1GHz dual-core Qualcomm Snapdragon processor
- 3MP fixed focus camera
- 512MB RAM
- 4GB storage
- Nokia X Software Platform operating system
- 1500mAh battery

By getting a Nokia X, you are entitled for a month of free calls through Skype to all landlines and mobiles alongside with 10GB of free storage space on Microsoft OneDrive (previously known as SkyDrive). Truly a great deal, isn’t it?
Nokia said that the X-family of phones will be bridging the gap between Android and Nokia phones by bringing the experience from the Asha and Lumia family into the X family of phones, as seen from the tiles interface from Lumia family and also the Fastlane from the Asha family. Also, the design and colours are similar to the Nokia Asha family of devices too.

As the Nokia X is built ground up from Android AOSP, Nokia is able to achieve the “bridging gap” approach through removing Google Play Store and adding Nokia’s own Store inside. Nokia told users to get their apps from other third party app stores or sideload them through whatever means to your phone to get the app running.
