Among the plethora of products announced by Acer, there are a couple of new boys in the block so let’s go and what those guys are up to.
First, we have the Aspire Vero 15 laptop that packs eco-conscious design choices and performance in a single package. Packing a 15.6-inch IPS display, it can achieve 100% sRGB color gamut so you may use it with decent color accuracy while the underlying silicon chips consist of up to a 13th Gen Intel Core i7 CPU with Iris Xe Graphics alongside a maximum of 16GB LPDDR5 RAM and 2x M.2 SSD slots capable of hosting up to 1TB of storage.
The chassis of this laptop now uses even more post-consumer recycled (PCR) plastics from 30% to 40% which means 30% fewer CO2 emissions during production. On the other hand, the keycaps and adapter casing utilize about 50% PCR materials while the OceanGlass trackpad makes use of ocean-bound plastic as usual. Packing is kept at 100% recycled paper and up to 90% recycled cardboard.
Onto the “special guest”, we have the Vero PL3510ATV Smart Projector. Equipped to project FHD footage, it uses a dynamic 4,800 ANSI lumens laser diode that can achieve a contrast ratio of 50,000:1 for crystal clear images even from long distances.
The versatility also comes from the ability to adjust 2D keystone and 4 corner correction to suit any viewing angle and levels of surface it is placed on. Coupled with the lens shift feature that allows the movement of the lens without adjusting the entire unit, it is far more convenient to use in general.
It also has a built-in 10W speaker but I’m sure no one will say they are “great” but at most “decent”, it can connect to external devices for audio playback while an included dongle with Android TV support makes Chromecast a reality alongside screen mirroring for those who want to play media from a laptop or PC.
Pricing and Availability
The Acer Aspire Vero 15 will become available starting June with a starting price of USD699.99 while the Vero PL3510ATV Smart Projector is at EUR1,399 launching in September.
