ASUS Malaysia has given an early notice to us that the new Vivobook 15X and Go 15 are going to reach us very soon so let’s see what’s up about the laptop duo.
First, we have the Vivobook 15X which is a fairly simple laptop that trades flair for general looks so you can use it anywhere without being “weird”.
Under the hood is either an Intel Core i5-1335U or AMD Ryzen 7 7730U together with 8GB of RAM and 512GB PCIe storage. So whether it is a low-powered CPU for business executives or containing enough power for editing videos and photos, Vivobook 15X got you covered.
The screen is a simple 15.6-inch IPS LCD panel at 1080p and is certified to operate with low blue light emissions and is flicker-free. For the battery, it is a 42Whr unit and supports USB PD so you can skip the power brick as needed.
I/O wise, it hosts a USB-C 3.2 Gen 1 with Power Delivery, 2x USB-A 3.2 Gen 1, full-size HDMI 1.4, and one USB-A 2.0 with connectivity option being WiFi 6E.
Other notable features include the AI-enhanced webcam with a privacy shutter and noise-canceling audio technology.
On the other hand, the Vivobook Go 15 is almost the same as the 15X with the difference being the CPU choices bounded to a single one which is the AMD Ryzen 5 7520U and a design choice that focuses on the lighter and thinner structure to emphasize the “Go” aspect.
Other than those, the rest of the kit is practically identical but there will be several SKUs differentiated by the RAM capacity in either 8GB or 16GB together with screen panel types of TN or IPS.
Price and Availability
The Vivobook 15X Intel model will be sold at the price of RM3,099 while the AMD variant is at RM3,199. Both of them will be coming in this month.
The Vivobook Go 15 with 8GB RAM and TN screen is going for RM2,299 and is available now (surprisingly) while the 16GB RAM + IPS screen combo only adds another RM200 to RM2,499 only and will be launched pretty soon.
