Over the years, Alcatel ONETOUCH had been developing some of the best mid-range phones ever in the market. Now, Alcatel revealed two more new phones – the Idol X+ and Idol Alpha.
First off, the Idol X+.
It’s a very premium phone that is built with the most premium feel into it. Here is a quick rundown of its specs :
- MediaTek’s true octa-core, running at 2GHz each.
- 5-inch IPS display with 1080p resolution
- Dual-SIM standby
- Dual-band WiFi connectivity
- 13.1MP rear-facing camera, 2MP front-facing camera
- 16GB internal storage (12.3GB usable), 2GB RAM.
- 2500mAh battery
The Idol X+ is also available in both black and white colour to spice things up. As for the premium feel of this phone, it has a circularly brushed metal feel to its back, giving much better grip to the user.
Alcatel is including some other pretty cool freebies for those who are getting an Idol X+ now, as you will get a free BOOMband and also a pair of free JBL IEM for the first 3000 units.
Another thing to mention about the JBL earphones are that the Idol X+ is actually tweaked to have the sound driver work exceptionally well for the Idol X+, just like HTC phones with Beats audio.
The Idol X+ is priced at a recommended retail price of RM1,299, and is available now.
As for the Idol Alpha, it is a mid-range phone that still has the premium feel in it, and that comes with a completely different feel from what the Idol X+ gives.
For all notification fanatics, this phone is for you. There is a transparent bar at the top and bottom of the phone which lights up when there are notifications – and you can tune it accordingly to which notification to give out which colour of light. Here’s the rundown of its specifications :
- Quad-core running at 1.2GHz each
- 4.7-inch IPS display with 720p resolution
- 13.1MP front-facing camera, 1.2MP rear-facing camera
- 16GB internal memory (13.3GB usable) 1GB RAM
- 2000mAh battery
The price of the Idol Alpha is only at a recommended retail price of RM1,099.
Certainly with both of these phones that come with an amazing premium feel that comes in such price, who could ever resist? Also, they’re both going to be updated to Android 4.4 KitKat in the future.
