Within Samsung’s lineup in the Galaxy S series, I’ve always said that the Plus is mostly just a bigger version of the base model – which is fine, but it’s the price gap that makes the Plus not worth the price. However, that changes with this new Galaxy S24 Plus as it has so many upgrades over the base version that it is now much closer to the Ultra than before.
Even though the design is unlike the Ultra, the screen is identical to the one found in the Ultra. It has a super high-resolution screen with a resolution of 3120×1440 pixels. That’s an impressive glow-up from its predecessors.
The overall size of the phone remains similar, but the frame is now squared-off with rounded edges and it makes the phone just so comfortable to hold. It is, however, using the Armour Aluminium frame, just like its predecessor.
It is also available in a variety of colors. The one we have here is the Marble Gray color – which as the name suggests, just looks very gray but on the lighter side. Personally, I’ll go for some other colors like Jade Green.
One notable highlight is that in certain regions, the Galaxy S24 Plus is using the Exynos 2400 chipset. Now, I’m sure many people are sounding the alarm saying that Exynos is bad – but from my preliminary tests – it has improved a lot over the previous generation. This might be a redemption arc for the Exynos chips – but we’ll have to do our gaming tests to know how well it actually performs.
It also has a bigger battery of 4,900mAh and that is only ever so slightly smaller than what the S24 Ultra has.
Of course, it is also baked with the same software features (minus the S Pen) – including 7 generations of Android OS upgrades and 7 years of security patches! The S24 Plus will also get the full suite of Galaxy AI features as well. We’ll be doing a dedicated piece on Galaxy AI later.

The starting price of RM4,899 might be difficult to swallow, but Samsung is having a pre-order sale now. There are bonuses like doubling up your storage for free, vouchers, and also trade-in rebates.
