A recent patent detail picked up by Patent Bolt is about Google’s design for how the UI changes depends on how you hold the device.
Presumably, this patent is for Chrome OS since the image for patent itself is clearly the Chrome menu. However, it’ll be perfect o see this being implemented on future Nexus devices and the ever-growing size of phones – now phanes (phone + tablet) – to have this feature. Really does help when you see it in a way that even with the Nexus 4’s 4.7 inch screen and a fairly large palm, I’m having issues to navigate around.
The problem I had is how the UI itself is made for right hand users, whereas I am one of those left hand users, so I have to go all the away across the entire screen just to click a button.
