For those who are still trusting and protecting the sacred wishes of children towards Santa, there’s a new AI-powered tool in town – namely the AI Santa by Tavus.

AI Santa Tavus

Reported by Tom’s Hardware, this piece of software shows a hyper-realistic Santa that can be interacted with in a variety of ways but the model behind it seems to understand what sort of stuff Santa would say – Christmas invitations and wishes, whether if you’ve been nice or naughty this year, etc. With LLMs pretty much mastering the tone of speech plus the highly matured TTS algorithms, AI Santa is quite polite and encourages you to do the same too.

The tech is backed by Combinator, Sequoia, and Peter Thiel and utilizes Tavus’s Conversational Video Interface (CVI) for an interactive and observant experience by allowing you to “call in” with your microphone and camera.

In addition to the M&C combo, they also require you to input your email address therefore there’s this grey area on how Tavus is going to handle this personal and sensitive info that has a lot of weight when it comes to customer profiling. Will they use this for further monetization or is it already applied at this current moment and time? We don’t know yet unless someone went and scanned through the full T&C page.

Fellow editor Mark Tyson also noticed that the entire platform could be unstable at times, such as not acknowledging his “wish for a new PC” which is kind of funny.

If you want to meet the virtual Santa due to the lack of “santas sitting around in malls taking pictures with kids” is just not that common in Asia, you can catch him in action via santa.tavus.io.
