OPPO has unveiled its next phase of enhanced artificial intelligence (AI) strategy at its AI Tech Summit keynote during MWC 2025.
Expanding AI capabilities through collaboration with Google
The first announcement is a partnership-based collaboration as OPPO will be working deeper with Google in terms of integrating Google AI on a system-level approach for its smartphones, allowing Google Gemini to integrate with native OPPO apps like Notes, Calendar, and Clock. These developments build on existing support for Gemini 1.5 Pro and Gemini 1.5 Flash, with plans to integrate Gemini 2.0 into OPPO devices soon.
The Chinese brand is also stepping up its privacy game with Private Computing Cloud (PCC), powered by Google Cloud’s Confidential Computing with AI features such as AI Recording Summary, AI Search, AI Studio, and AI Call Summary slated for integration later this year.
Pushing AI innovation with extensive R&D
Other than software, OPPO is also focusing on hardware as well with its frequent collaboration with MediaTek in processor optimization and AI-related augmentation that ensures the chipset could operate at high efficiency without sacrificing power consumption.
Additionally, OPPO will be using techs like LoRA (Low-Rank Adaptation), Parallel Decoding Solution, and MoE (Mixture of Experts) to enhance AI performance on devices, while its cloud infrastructure ensures secure data protection.
Bringing AI features to more users, faster
Now this is an interesting commitment – one AI feature update per month via the latest ColorOS version.
The current last device, the foldable smartphone Find N5, will be receiving AI Search and the above mentioned “Google Gemini into native OPPO apps” update. They will also be updating the AI Call Translator and AI VoiceScribe to enable a seamless international online meetings and sessions.
AI-powered experiences showcased at MWC2025
Spanish football legend David Villa attended the OPPO AI Tech Summit, where he explored OPPO’s AI innovations firsthand. Villa expressed interest in leveraging AI to enhance both his daily life and professional activities.
Beyond the summit, OPPO is showcasing its AI-driven smartphones including the Find N5, Reno13 series, and Find X8 series at MWC2025 in collaboration with industry partners like Google, MediaTek, and Qualcomm.
