MediaTek has revealed the latest member of its Dimensity 9400 lineup, with an extra “e” on the back instead of a “+”.
Built on the new All Big Core architecture, the 9400e actually sits below the Plus and standard variant in terms of performance, but this doesn’t discount it from being a cost-effective selection.
It is manufactured via TSMC 3rd Gen 4nm process with 4x Cortex-X4 performance cores that can go up to 3.4GHz, plus 4x Cortex-A720 cores at 2.0GHz. The GPU department sees the familiar 12-core Immortalis-G720.
The Dimensity 9400e is armed with its in-house HyperEngine feature that ensures the smoothest gameplay with balanced power consumption, including MAGT 2.0 that enhances communication of the game with the SoC, and MFRC 2.0+ for even better power consumption rate of up to 40%.
The AI front is powered by the NPU 790 to run the latest NeuroPilot SDK and loads of other small LLMs such as Qwen1.5B, Llama7B, even Gemini Nano with multimodality – all locally, further enhanced by the new SpD+ decoding engine.
Other notable features include 18-bit RAW ISP, 5G connection of up to 7Gbps, Wi-Fi 7 speeds topping 7.3Gbps, and various cellular signal enhancement and optimization tech working in the back.
