Certainly Samsung doesn’t want to lose its share of market to Xiaomi. On September 3, 2014, Samsung Electronics Co. Ltd. announced that new members will be joining its flagship GALAXY Note series – the new GALAXY Note 4 and GALAXY Note Edge.
The new GALAXY Note 4 combines all the latest technology from the GALAXY series. GALAXY Note 4 inherits its predecessor’s characteristic – big screen and the iconic S Pen. The screen size grows even larger, it is 5.7 inch now.
GALAXY Note 4 Bronze Gold
Featuring 5.7 inch Quad HD (2560×1440) Super AMOLED display, producing better images with deep contrast and response faster. To utilize the big screen it has, the useful Multi Window feature is enhanced further. Users now can choose how they want to access the applications, wither with full, split or pop-up screens! With just an intuitive swipe, the size and positioning of apps can be adjusted. Owh, how convenient is that~ I myself own a GALAXY Note 2. Even though the screen size is big, just two applications are allowed to show together, sometimes that’s just not enough. How I wish I have this feature in my Note 2…
So, what else is improved in this new GALAXY Note 4? Let’s take a look on the camera system. Rear camera is a 16 MP camera featuring a Smart Optical Image Stabilizer which designed to prevent camera shake and automatically increase exposure time in dark environment. Now, you can take usfie with the 3.7 megapixel front camera with f1.9 which offers a 90-degree shooting angle and up to 120-degree wide angle. Pretty fancy to stay in trend now, huh? Not working for me though.
In terms of power consumption, the GALAXY Note 4 implements the Fast Charging feature that allows the GALAXY Note 4 to charge faster and also Ultra Power Saving Mode which helps you to save the battery juices. Using multiple microphones and improved speaker-phone to enhance the noise-cancellation when speaking in noisy environments. The new add on is a built-in Voice Recorder. It offers eight different directional voice tagging and allows users to filter and listen to specific voices in a group conversation. Hmm, this is quite interesting. Well, now the security has been secured with an improved Fingerprint Scanner. GALAXY Note 4 also comes with the world’s first UV sensor in a mobile device. I wonder what is the function of that? To detect whether I will get sunburn?
S Pen and S Note are a must to have in GALAXY Note series. The new S Pen is improved to give a more natural brush effect as if you are scribbling on paper. The Air Command has been improved and a new function is added – Smart Select, allows user to joint information collected from different source and share it with ease. As for the S Note, a new feature called Snap Note is added which turns the capture picture of a paper or classroom board into S Note. Amazing huh? Perfect tools for students, I would say. Voice memo is also introduced. The name says it, it means taking down a memo with voice input.
The design of the GALAXY Note 4 is similar to its predecessor – premium metal frame and soft-textured back cover.
GALAXY Note Edge is a phone that features a curve Edge screen which provides quick access to frequently used apps, alerts and device functionality. Notification will show up on the Edge screen if you are watching video without disturbing you.
GALAXY Edge Charcoal Black
The GALAXY Note 4 will have four colours available: Charcoal Black, Frost White, Bronze Gold and Blossom Pink. This new flagship phone will be available starting in October. On the other hand, the GALAXY Note Edge will be available in only Charcoal Black and Frost White in selected markers through Samsung’s retail channels, e-commerce and carriers later this year. This business tablet’s battery can last for 10 hours, even if it has run out of juice, you can just easily replace the battery with a fresh battery.
