The Emirates airline will be rolling out Starlink Wi-Fi across its entire in-service fleet, kicking things off with its Boeing 777 aircraft in November 2025 and aiming to wrap up the whole project by mid-2027, making it completely free for all passengers while being fast and stable enough for streaming, gaming, video calls, and social media, whether you’re using your seatback screen or your own devices.
Emirates says the rollout will cover all 232 aircraft over the next two years, and the first jet already equipped with Starlink is A6-EPF, a Boeing 777-300ER showcased at the Dubai Airshow. Once the event ends, that same aircraft will operate the first commercial flight with Starlink onboard, officially kicking off the rapid installation phase.
The airline plans to fit about 14 aircraft every month, and A380 installations will begin in February 2026. To maximize performance, each 777 will carry two Starlink antennae, while each A380 will get an industry-first three-antenna setup, ensuring consistent, high-capacity coverage throughout every cabin. Live TV is also coming over Starlink, starting with personal devices and eventually expanding to seatback screens by late December 2025.
The brand wants to help travelers experience at-home internet quality so that none of them has to endure long, boring flights without access to their own entertainment; thus, they are committed to retrofitting by spending big bucks and effort to achieve this.
This Starlink rollout is just one layer of Emirates’ bigger refresh, which already includes over 6,500 entertainment channels, the A380 Onboard Lounge, and the First Class Shower Spa. Out of the airline’s nearly 220-aircraft retrofit initiative, 76 fully refurbished planes are already back in service, bringing features like Premium Economy, revamped Business Class, upgraded First Class suites, and improved finishes throughout.
