It’s pretty surprising – Samsung is trying something new by breaking into an entirely unscratched market- digital age for the children.
We’ve seen Samsung made a tablet for kids in the past, particularly the Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 Kids Edition, and now they are back with KidsTime – a subscription based service provided by Samsung. It promises zero ads and in-app purchases, with a totally controlled environment for the children. Also, you can monitor your kids’ activity on the tablet and also set a time limit so the young ones won’t spend too much time on it.
Check out the video below for some details.
As for now, Samsung KidsTime is only available for Samsung devices, namely the GALAXY Note 4 4G+, GALAXY ALPHA 4G+ and GALAXY S5 4G+, as well as tablets including the GALAXY Tab S, GALAXY Tab 4, GALAXY Tab 3 Lite, GALAXY Note PRO and GALAXY Note 10.1 2014 Edition. Funny not seeing the GALAXY Tab 3 Kids Edition here.
Samsung is targeting the digital age for children with interactive education through games and books in a controlled environment on the tablet. We all know the internet is a dangerous place, and Samsung actually got quite a solid product here.
For now, the KidsTime comes with 10 free apps and eBook titles upon app installation. You can then get a monthly subscription if you want for the complete set of 30 apps and eBooks that will be expanded to 50 and constantly refreshed.
