Dell announced the expansion of its peripheral portfolio with the introduction of the Dell Pro 7 Webcam 4K and the Dell Pro 5 Webcam 2K, integrating real-time scene optimization and hardware-level security for hybrid enterprise workflows.
The premium Pro 7 Webcam 4K (WB726) delivers UHD video streams at 60FPS through its high-sensitivity Sony STARVIS CMOS sensor plus an AI-driven image signal processor to manage facial tracking, auto-exposure, and smart scene auto-framing over a wide 90-degree field of view.
To optimize remote conferencing in shared workspaces, the device incorporates an AI vision-based directional microphone array that isolates audio capture strictly to the user within the active lens view. Security parameters rely on built-in presence-sensing hardware that interfaces with Windows Hello facial recognition to log users in automatically upon arrival and lock the host computer when they step away from the desk.
On the other hand, the Pro 5 Webcam 2K (WB526) is the mainstream option, providing QHD 60FPS video powered by a specialized Sony sensor for 78-degree FOV. The compact model retains a native Windows Hello infrared camera module for quick biometric facial login, adding a physical Kensington lock-compatible metal loop to secure the hardware in open office layouts.
Both the Pro 7 and Pro 5 models connect via a detachable USB Type-C interface and feature two newly deployed intelligent collaboration modes: Document View, which recalibrates perspective metrics to share physical papers clearly, and Gesture Control, which allows users to execute hands-free object zooming during live presentations.
