YTL AI Labs is expanding the reach of its homegrown AI assistant through a new partnership with Yes by YTL Communications, making ILMUchat available to more than three million Yes subscribers across Malaysia. The announcement also introduces a major platform update, adding new content creation tools alongside a commercial subscription model.
Developed by Malaysians for Malaysians, ILMUchat is designed to understand local languages, culture, and everyday context. Beyond supporting Bahasa Melayu and English, the AI can recognize Malaysian acronyms such as PTPTN and KWSP, understand regional differences, and naturally converse using mixed languages, including Chinese dialects and Manglish.
The latest update significantly expands ILMUchat’s capabilities beyond text generation, as users can now create presentation slides, posters, mini applications, and simple games directly within the platform. The AI can also help draft letters, proposals, emails, and messages, with one-click sharing through WhatsApp or email.
The experience has also been tailored for local users with a Bahasa Melayu-first interface, localized prompts, greetings in Manglish, and a voice featuring a Malaysian accent. When composing emails or messages, users can choose different writing styles ranging from formal and professional to casual or Manglish. For local searches and recommendations, ILMUchat can also direct users to destinations through integrated Maps.
As for plans and tiers, there’s the free ILMUchat Basic providing core features with limited usage of premium tools such as slide generation, poster creation, and app building. Users who need unrestricted access can subscribe to ILMUchat Pro for RM50 per month.
But thanks to the partnership, all Yes subscribers can access ILMUchat directly through the MyYes app using a seamless single sign-on experience with their existing Yes account, and on top of that, it is not just the free tier but the ILMUchat Pro plan, so there’s no need to shell out the fifty.
ILMUchat is now available through its web platform, the Apple App Store, Google Play Store, and the MyYes app.
