Samsung Malaysia has signed a new deal with Maybank to launch the very first integration of QR tech into Samsung Wallet. Galaxy users can now utilize a faster way to handle everyday payments by having the ability to access Maybank’s MAE Scan & Pay functionality natively through the latest Samsung Wallet update.
While the announcement is made for the Malaysian market, it will go beyond local and reach Singapore, Thailand, Indonesia, and Cambodia. The native setup cuts out extra steps for everyday purchases like meals, groceries, or coffee, and every transaction also earns Samsung Reward points redeemable for Samsung products or vouchers through the Samsung Members app.
To mark the launch, the two companies are running a promotional campaign from July 28 to October 30, offering rewards worth up to RM500,000 in total. Customers who successfully connect and activate QR Payment on Samsung Wallet will receive RM5, with up to RM15 more available in cashback or vouchers based on spending.
