DJI Malaysia’s latest product in the market is the Mic Mini 2S compact wireless microphone that brings several meaningful upgrades to the original Mic Mini 2.
The new model supports 32-bit float internal recording for better and overall more stable recording, and each transmitter also includes around 14.5GB of onboard storage, enough to record up to 28 hours of audio in the default 24-bit mode. That means even if a wireless connection is interrupted, the recording is still safely stored on the transmitter itself.
Multi person productions is also possible with this, as a single receiver can now connect to up to four transmitters simultaneously, making the Mic Mini 2S suitable for podcasts, roundtable discussions, interviews, and other group recordings. Better yet, it’s compatible with previous DJI microphone products, including Mic Mini, Mic Mini 2 transmitters, and the DJI Mic Series Mobile Receiver, making upgrades much more affordable for existing users.
It also comes with 2 levels of AI noise cancellation, where Basic mode helps remove indoor distractions like air conditioners, fans, and room echo, while the Strong mode focuses on reducing louder outdoor background noise. Additional features such as Clipping Control help prevent distorted audio from sudden volume spikes, while Loudness Balance automatically keeps voices at a more consistent level. Users can also choose between Regular, Bright, and Rich voice presets depending on the sound they’re after.
Despite the added features, the Mic Mini 2S remains incredibly compact. Each transmitter weighs just 12g and supports both clip-on and magnetic mounting options for easier placement. DJI is also continuing its customizable magnetic front covers, including colorful standard designs as well as the Time Series collection created in collaboration with illustrator Victo Ngai.
For users already invested in DJI’s camera ecosystem, the Mic Mini 2S integrates directly with compatible Osmo devices, including the Osmo Pocket 4P, Osmo Pocket 4, Osmo 360, Osmo Nano, and Osmo Action 6. Using OsmoAudio Direct Connection, the microphone can transmit 48kHz 24-bit audio straight to these cameras without needing a receiver, creating a cleaner and more streamlined setup.
