The Pixel Spotter Challenge hosted by Google has come to an end, and 11 individuals are lucky enough to stand out from the Game and Referral categories to receive some goodies.
The game itself pushed players through five increasingly tricky levels, racing against the clock to spot hidden plushies while climbing a live nationwide leaderboard based on speed and accuracy. Prizes on offer included the Google Pixel 10a, Pixel Watch 4, and Pixel Buds 2a, giving winners a genuinely solid haul for what started as a quick, playful distraction.
One of the standout stories came from Subas Segar, who won not by topping the leaderboard but through the Referral category, picking up a pair of Pixel Buds 2a simply by inviting friends to join through his personal referral link. He said he started sharing the challenge because he thought his friends would enjoy it too, and things got more fun once more people joined and everyone could compare scores. Winning the Pixel Buds 2a, he admitted, came as a genuine surprise since that wasn’t really the goal going in.
Beyond the digital game, the wider campaign brought some real-world perks too. Customers who bought eligible Pixel devices through participating retail and telco partners could redeem exclusive football-themed merchandise while supplies lasted. The standout item here was a limited Football Edition Google Pixel Plushie, dressed in a jersey inspired by Google’s signature blue, red, yellow, and green colors, with only 200 successful redemptions available nationwide, marking the first time the familiar Pixel companion got a football makeover in Malaysia.
