Of all the news that I thought of seeing today, I did not expect this.
This one in particular. Windows on a phone. No, not Windows Phone or Windows RT – the real full version of Windows. Particularly, Windows 7 on the ZenFone 2. It should be noted though that the Intel chip that powers the ZenFone 2 has the same base architecture as Intel’s desktop/laptop processors, and that’s one of the main reason why Windows can be ran in the first place.
XDA Senior Member ycavan managed to install the full version of Windows 7 on his own ZenFone 2 through Virtual Machine, or VM for short.
It has been reported that this emulation ran smoothly with no major bugs, but will require bootloader to be unlocked and KVM Kernel flashed , then partitioning the SD card, do a lot of mumbo jumbo just to begin the installation of Windows on the ZenFone 2. Once it’s done however, behold the magic it holds.
Just wow.
