Ladies and gentlemen, AirAsia just got PWN’ed.
As reported by The Hacker News a couple of days ago, the site attributes the criminal group behind the data breach to Daixin Team where the black hats went and attacked the aviation company via ransomware occurred about some time between November 11 and November 12.
To prove the legitimacy of the database as per tradition, several sample entries and records are posted in their data leak portal with claims of 5 million IDs contained within the whole package including those of passengers, employees, and high-level staffs.
Unsure whether Daixin Team is being cocky or disappointed, a spokesperson relay on behalf of the hackers states that “Due to AirAsia’s poor security measures and chaotic organization of the network, further attacks were not pursued”, according to a notice provided to DataBreaches.net.
As the threat actor behind cyberattacks towards healthcare sectors involving ista International GmbH, OakBend Medical, Fitzgibbon Hospital, Trib Total Media, and more, Daixin Team was recently been placed on the target map by cybersecurity and intelligence agencies from the USA just last month.
The full information exchange between AirAsia and Daixin Team can be read on DataBreachs.net‘s post.
