It’s no surprise that all of the brands are expanding into gaming stuff first, and AOC is the latest addition to join the eSports and gaming field of the world.
Apparently, AOC even gave an entire history class on how the name AGON, and I shall quote them:
AGON is an ancient Greek word (ἀγών), which refers to “a struggle or contest”
On another explanation on the choice of the word AGON, it is claimed to be an acrostic that represents AOC’s vision for AGON in particular. Again, I quote them:
-
AOC to lead the way in gaming monitor development
-
Gaming enhanced by the latest technology
-
Outstanding performance for a competitive edge
-
New standard of gaming for users to enjoy
AOC’s AGON line of products will start off with a few monitors, and presumably launching during Computex this week too. There will be a total of 5 gaming monitors to be launched – the AG271QX; AG271QG; AG322FCX; G2460PFG; and 2460VQ6 monitor. The launch will be broadcasted live over the internet with many celebrities hosting the launch.
AGON product series displays are expected to be available in the Asia Pacific region soon through AOC partners – and we’ll update you for sure.
