It’s the third day of Apple’s daily product announcements this week – and we have the new slew of MacBook Pros! It’s now powered by the M4 series of chips. There are choices as well – starting with the M4, then upgrading to the M4, and finally – the M4 Pro for those who need the most power in a laptop.
The M4 is touted to be 1.8x faster than the M1, the M4 Pro is said to be up to 3x faster than models with M1 Pro, and the M4 Max claims to be up to 3.5x faster than the M1 Max.
Honestly, Apple is smart here. The numbers that they provide are comparisons against the M1 series of chips – and that is because it’s time for who are using the M1 chips are looking for an upgrade – like me, for example. I am using the M1 Pro MacBook Pro. This new generation of M4 Pro MacBook Pro seems enticing too.
Of course, there are a lot of other upgrades too. Both the M4 Pro and M4 Max MacBook Pros will come with the latest and fastest Thunderbolt 5 ports that can reach up to 120Gb/s for even faster external storages docks. All MacBook Pros will have a HDMI 2.1 FRL port, an SDXC card reader, a headphone jack, a MagSafe 3 charging port, and also support for both WiFi-6E and Bluetooth 5.3. It’s quite weird that they don’t come with WiFi 7 support.
One big thing that Apple is highlighting is Apple Intelligence. It is ready to be used with macOS Sequoia 15.1, so you can try it out when you get the new M4 Macbook Pro.

All the new MacBook Pros now also have the option to customize to have the nano-textured display too. It’s the same textured screen on the iPad Pro, and it reduces glare drastically so that we can see what’s on the screen with better clarity and colors – even outdoors.
Every MacBook Pro – be it 14-inch or 16-inch, are available in the Space Black and Silver color variants.
