Apple announced the new M3 Ultra chip alongside the new Mac Studio that uses the new chip, but this new Mac Studio is also configurable to use the M4 Max chip. Despite the M3 Ultra having the number “3”, it still supports Thunderbolt 5 – just like the new M4 chips.
This new M3 Ultra chip is 2.6x more powerful than the M1 Ultra, and support more than half a terabyte of unified memory for the most demanding tasks that you can ever imagine doing on your computer. The new M3 Ultra connects two M3 Max dies together, while maintaining high-speed connections with great efficiency.
As for the Mac Studio, it is offering 2.6x performance compared to the M1 Ultra, has Thunderbolt 5 connectivity, and I’m really glad that Apple retained the SD card reader at the front of the Mac Studio.
Pricing and Availability
The new Mac Studio will be available soon on apple.com/my/store, in the Apple Store app, and in Apple Store locations and Apple Authorised Resellers.
The M4 Max version of the Mac Studio will start from RM8,999 and RM8,149 for education. Of course, we can still further customize the specs if we want to.
