Grab has added a brand-new AudioProtect function that aims to improve the safety of its user and safeguard the interest of both parties in general.

Grab AudioProtect

Rolling out in phases starting today, drivers and passengers will have the ability to turn on AudioProtect which enables audio recordings during the ride and if needed, used as evidence in case any sort of accident or dispute happens.

Deployed as a security measure, its main job is to provide greater peace of mind while serving as a fallback plan so that no matter you go, Grab is always there for support. It also boosts the responsibility and commitment of Grab’s partners and drivers by reducing any sort of unhappy events caused by miscommunication.

Regardless of the driver or normal user, AudioProtect is seated within the Safety Center section within Account Settings listed as ‘Recording’ with states of either ‘ON’ or ‘OFF’. For full flexibility, you can toggle it to active or inactive depending on your needs.

Grab also made sure that the recordings is encrypted locally and stored within the device only, and only send to them when an official report was made. If not used within 5 days, the voice will be history, leaving no traces behind.

Perhaps I need this for my GrabFood order as well lmao.
