CES 2023 concluded last week and we’ve seen some special stuff with one of them being from Lenovo. Let’s see what’s so unique about it.
Yoga Series
Do you need a keyboard for every laptop you use? Lenovo seems to be saying no with the Yoga Book 9i – a full-sized dual OLED screen laptop where both inward-facing sides are just panels to give user brand new ways to elevate their workflow. For example, viewing two files at once at high resolution or surfing a single webpage and reading all of its content without scrolling – all is possible with the Book 9i.
Powered by Intel’s latest mobile chips, the laptop will serve as the mobile device you need to get through your daily task with ease by using your fingers or the Smart Pen while forgetting about the mouse. Prefer to type on something physical? Then you may get the Bluetooth keyboard for it if that’s your preference.
Meanwhile, the classic Yoga 9i and Slim 7i Carbon receives the expected hardware refresh with 13th Gen Intel Core mobile CPU while the Yoga 6 joins Team Red for the AMD Ryzen 7000 series alternative. The Slim 6i and Slim 7 get visual upgrades instead which host a 14-inch OLED display for Dolby Vision and optional support to give you a better experience without breaking the bank.
Enlarging the screen size then you’ll find the Yoga AIO 9i with a big 32-inch display that is borderless in 3-size, comes in 4K resolution, and has 100% sRGB color gamut with the internals containing 13th Gen Intel Core CPU and NVIDIA GeForce RTX 40 series, all desktop versions, to maximize your productivity.
Notable features include a 5MP IR webcam, Harman Kardon speakers with Dolby Atmos, and USB-C with Power Delivery.
ThinkBook Series
With 2023, Lenovo is revamping the ThinkBook lineup starting with the ThinkBook Twist Plus which is the next-generation upgrade of the 2012 ThinkBook Twist. The main flair here is that it actually has screens on each side of the display to give different experiences to the user on the fly.
By default, the one facing the user is a 13.3-inch OLED panel with touch glass and narrow bezels at 2.8K resolution while the one facing outwards is an e-ink display at 12 inches with 12Hz refresh rate and refined touch glass.
The e-ink display will be the one selection preferred by frequent digital file users who needs to draft, edit, and proofread documents on the go while saving lots of battery since it only refreshes at 12Hz.
When used as a standard laptop, enjoy the good ol’ OLED screen powered by an underlying 13th Gen Intel Core mobile processor or hop onto calls with its FHD webcam and noise-canceling microphone.
On the other hand, the ThinkBook 16p Gen 4 is your standard powerhouse here with 13th Gen Intel Core mobile CPU + and up to NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4060 Laptop GPU powering an at best 3.2K 165Hz display for all your heavy workloads and occasional gaming.
Pairing with it is the optional set of Lenovo Magic Bay accessories including a 4K webcam, mini lightbar, 4G LTE connection, and more where the user can just snap the unit onto the magnetic pogo pins on the top, and viola, the power goes through and you can use it immediately.
Tablets
Onto the tablet section, the newly introduced Tab Extreme is the very best the brand has to offer to date. The 14.5-inch 3K 120Hz OLED display is the name of the game for absolute visuals while powerful speakers with Dolby Atmos puts out some great audio. Powering the device is a MediaTek Dimensity 9000 Ultra SoC with battery life lasting up to 12 hours for an all-day working or entertainment spree.
With a tablet as big as the Tab Extreme, Lenovo also made a special stand for it that attaches to the back of the device and allows dual-mode horizontal or vertical orientation with some degree of tilting as well. Allowing more productivity, the USB-C port can provide DisplayPort Out signals so you can connect it to a monitor so yeah, more flexibility!
For the e-ink gang, they’ll surely appreciate the new Smart Paper tablet having a 10.3-inch anti-glare e-ink display to go with the Smart Paper Pen simulating the feeling and clarity of writing on actual paper.
This is especially useful for students and artists that work frequently with black-and-white drawing and drafting. The internal 50GB storage can pack quite an amount of pages whereas Lenovo says that 50,000 copies are easily achievable. Users can also access eBooks.com for more ready-to-read stuff.
New Smartphone
A little bit of surprise, Lenovo is going to release a smartphone that is made in partnership with Motorola called the ThinkPhone. While it has nothing fancy to flex on, it is prioritizing security and protection over everything else from the carbon fiber back plate to enhanced digital defense augmented by AI and hardware encryption.
It also works seamlessly with its ThinkPad laptops to provide a seamlined user experience such as interconnectivity, clipboard sharing, file sharing, app sharing, webcam streaming, and more.
