Jaybird, the creator of the amazing X2 – Bluetooth earphone meant for sports, was acquired by Logitech for approximately USD $50 million straight up in cash! An additional earn-out of USD $45 million over the next two years. It’s not a low-priced acquisition at all, yet it’s a strategic one for sure.
Let’s put it this way, Logitech has Ultimate Ears, or UE, in their hands. With Jaybird coming along in their fleet of audio products, I’m sure that Logitech can whip out some really fantastic product real soon.
