When it comes to gaming tests, we mostly only need the 3 essential data – the FPS, the CPU, and GPU utilization. However, smartphones don’t work like desktops or laptops whereby these tools are readily available. Luckily, Samsung provided tools to us to actually monitor these data effectively – and more.
So, here we two tools – Perf Z and GPU Watch. These two tools work differently and they both have their own strengths as they do display some other data other than just the FPS, CPU, and GPU utilization.
Let’s talk about these two tools individually. We also have a tutorial on how to enable these individual tools in the video too.
Perf Z
Perf Z is a tool that is much more minimalist and provides real-time information for the game that is running. Perf Z is also a part of the Game Plugins suite and that comes with a caveat – there are many Samsung phones that are either too new or just outright aren’t supported by Game Plugins at all. That data is only available on Perf Z.
I do hope that Samsung do provide more options to be displayed via GPU Watch.
