Ugreen recently sent over a care package and inside, we have this new Ugreen 5-in-1 USB-C hub. After looking at Ugreen’s website, there are two different versions of this hub. They’re both still “5-in-1” and have the same size but comes with different ports.
The one that we have is the variant with an Ethernet port. So, for this variant, we have all these ports:
- 1x pass-through USB-C port for charging; supports up to 100W
- 2x USB 3.0 Type-A 5Gb/s ports
- 1x HDMI port
- 1x Gigabit Ethernet port
And that’s all the 5 ports we have and it works as expected. I am already using the older 5-port hub by Ugreen – which is larger in size but functions the same. But, what I love the most about this new version of the Ugreen 5-in-1 USB-C hub is the size.
Sure, we don’t have an SD card reader on the hub itself – but that truly depends on what you need and what device you’re using. For me, this little hub is perfect with the Dell XPS 15 9500 that I’m using because that laptop has a built-in SD card reader so I don’t need it on the hub.
This hub can also be used with phones that can output video via USB-C, like the Samsung Galaxy S or Galaxy S series or smartphones, ROG Phone, and Huawei Mate or P series of smartphones as well. Plus, if your phone has desktop modes like Samsung DeX, then you can even connect a mouse or keyboard to the Ugreen 5-in-1 USB-C hub and you can literally start working on your phone.
So, the version of the Ugreen 5-in-1 USB-C hub that we have here is priced at RM112.13. But, if you don’t need the Ethernet port and want more USB-A ports, then the other variant of the 5-in-1 USB-C hub will suit you more. It’s even priced lower too, at RM93.42.
