Samsung Malaysia officially launched the latest AI-infused TVs for the local market a couple of days ago so let’s find out what’s new so you can “justify” to get a new one for moms and pops.
The new Neo QLED 8K and 4K lineup is now loaded with advanced AI technology, with the QN900D standing out as the ultimate flagship model. Powered by the NQ8 AI Gen3 processor with a native NPU operating 512 neural networks, a significant upgrade from last year’s 64, the performance boost greatly enhances the 8K AI Upscaling Pro, making it even more effective for upscaling old footage to meet modern standards.
Additionally, the AI Motion Enhancer Pro clarifies fast-moving objects like soccer balls, and the Real Depth Enhancer Pro uses AI and other techniques for real-time depth adjustments, enhancing immersion.
The Infinity Air Design, with an ultra-thin chassis of just 13.1mm, allows the TV to blend seamlessly into any environment because it just works well with the Mystic Floating Stand. The 8K series also features Q-Symphony for connecting multiple wireless speakers and Active Voice Amplifier Pro to enhance on-screen dialogue and voices.
And you know, since it is an AI TV, you can’t miss out the AI functions like AI Customization Mode/Auto Game Mode/Energy Mode/Environment Adaptive Brightness – all of the smart and dynamic things. Oh yeah, add Samsung SmartThings support to the mix as well.
For those who prefer OLED, the new series, led by the S95D with up to 77 inches of display, is now 20% brighter than previous models while maintaining deep blacks and rich colors mainly thanks to the NQ4 AI Gen2 Processor. With a refresh rate of up to 144Hz and PANTONE Validated color accuracy and calibration, this display is perfect for various types of entertainment.
And just a touch up, this year’s The Frame 2024 edition receives minor QoL upgrades in the form of reduced energy consumption and expanded gallery selections.
As for the audio department, let’s get trippy with the new Music Frame. If you know about The Frame TV which is basically acting as a picture frame when it is turned off, why not have a music player that comes with a big screen that is just somehow designed to look like a picture frame?
As a modern speaker, WiFi + Bluetooth connection is just the baseline. It also comes with Q-Symphony to deliver immersive surround sound as well as Dolby Atmos for supported content.
