Toshiba Malaysia unveiled three new televisions for the local market this past Tuesday, featuring some of the latest modern enhancements that significantly enhance the user experience.
Let’s begin with the flagship model, the Z870M, which boasts a Mini-LED backlight with Full Array Local Dimming Pro. This technology provides precise control over backlight zones, resulting in an exceptional contrast ratio that supports a wide range of HDR formats, including Dolby Vision HDR, HDR10+, and HLG.
Powered by the cutting-edge REGZA Engine ZRi chipset, the accompanying AI algorithm excels at refining images and videos, delivering sharp and detailed output through impressive upscaling quality. Additionally, the Quantum Dot Colour technology enhances the color spectrum for accurate and vibrant visuals.
In the audio department, the Z870M combines REGZA Power Audio Pro+ and Dolby Atmos, along with the REGZA Bass Woofer PRO featuring Tru Bass Booster for impactful sound across all spectrums, filling the entire room and allowing everyone to enjoy every detail of their favorite movies.
For gamers, the TV offers Game Mode Pro, automatically optimizing color profiles and game-specific settings, with a native 144Hz refresh rate and AMD FreeSync to eliminate tearing and desynchronization. AI AutoView Pro, enhanced by Auto Low Latency Mode (ALLM), handles on-the-fly color and brightness optimization seamlessly.
Other notable features include IMAX Enhanced, Far Field Voice for voice-controlled remote operation, and Smart Sharing, allowing Apple Homekit-compatible devices to share media and games.
Moving to a more budget-friendly option, the Z670M, the “6” in its name indicates its position as a lower-tier offering. However, it shares many similarities with the Z780M, including the REGZA Engine ZRi, Quantum Dot Technology, Dolby Vision Atmos and HDR support (HDR10+ and HLG), REGZA Power Audio Pro+, and Dolby Atmos.
While the REGZA Bass System is slightly less powerful, the Front Firing Speakers compensate by dispersing sound effectively throughout the room. It also features Game Mode Pro, AMD FreeSync Premium, a 144Hz Variable Refresh Rate, Auto Low Latency Mode (ALLM), IMAX Enhanced, and more.
Finally, we have the M550M, designed to offer maximum value as part of Toshiba’s 70th-anniversary celebration. Equipped with the REGZA Engine ZR, it combines AI Upscaling and Color Re-Master Pro to deliver top-notch visuals for its category. The REGZA Power Audio PRO and Tru Bass Booster maintain their reputation in the audio segment. Despite being a mid-range product, it features modern Smart OS features like Google TV and Apple AirPlay.
