A great trip can leave behind hundreds of photos, hours of video and, increasingly, a mountain of high-resolution files. The adventure might be happening on the road, but there’s a surprising amount of work happening behind the scenes to make sure all those memories actually make it home.

That’s especially true for today’s travel creators. With World Tourism Day putting the spotlight on destinations, cultures and experiences around the world, Malaysia offers no shortage of places worth documenting – from historic streets and centuries-old architecture to beaches, forests and busy city centres.

The catch? Modern cameras and smartphones can generate enormous amounts of data.

RAW photography, 4K and 8K video, drone footage and mobile-first content have all raised the storage demands of travel photography and filmmaking. Having enough capacity is only part of the equation, too. Creators need to move, edit and back up those files quickly, often without the luxury of a full desktop setup nearby.

That’s where Kingston Technology’s range of internal, external and portable storage comes into play.

Large creative projects can put plenty of pressure on a system, particularly when working with huge RAW libraries, multiple video streams or complex editing timelines. A fast internal SSD can help keep transfers, editing and rendering from becoming unnecessary bottlenecks.

The Kingston FURY Renegade G5 PCIe 5.0 NVMe SSD, available in capacities of up to 8TB, is built for demanding workloads. It offers read speeds of up to 14,800MB/s, write speeds of up to 14,000MB/s and more than 2 million IOPS, giving creators substantial performance and capacity for intensive workflows, including large 8K projects.

For PCIe 4.0 systems, the Kingston KC3000 PCIe 4.0 NVMe M.2 SSD offers read and write speeds of up to 7,000MB/s. Its compact M.2 form factor and low-profile graphene aluminium heat spreader make it suitable for demanding applications such as video editing, rendering and animation.

Meanwhile, the Kingston XS2000 External SSD combines a compact design with USB 3.2 Gen 2×2 performance of up to 2,000MB/s. It also comes with a protective rubber sleeve and an IP55 rating, giving travelling creators a little more flexibility when working in different environments. On compatible devices, it can also support direct Apple ProRes recording.

For something even easier to slip into a pocket or camera bag, the Kingston XS1000 External SSD offers speeds of up to 1,050MB/s in a compact form factor. Its compatibility with PCs, tablets and smartphones makes it useful for backing up footage, transferring files and adding storage while travelling.

Then there’s the Kingston Dual Portable SSD, which is designed around the reality that creators rarely stick to one device. It features both USB Type-A and USB Type-C connectors and offers USB 3.2 Gen 2 speeds of up to 1,050MB/s, making it easier to move files between compatible laptops, desktops and mobile devices without constantly reaching for an adapter.
