The Xiaomi 13 series smartphone has finally landed in Malaysia and the Leica-equipped devices will be hitting the store soon.
Let’s start with the base model Xiaomi 13. The brand basically makes it as the value buy between the versions as one can easily access the Leica optical and imaging technology without overspending beyond what a casual user needs.
The casual here is in the context of the people who just need to take some great photos as memories since the SoC is the top-notch Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 that outputs enormous performance without getting too hot for the fingertips. Coupled with a true DC-dimming AMOLED screen, you have one device that can satisfy mobile gaming without the “gaming smartphone” quirk.
We also had a chance to review the base model early so you can check it out below.
On the other hand, the Xiaomi 13 Pro has a bigger screen and packs the big ol’ 1-inch main camera lens to fulfill a wide variety of needs that meets the requirements of professional photography settings.
The support of 10-bit RAW image output which can be used by software like Adobe Photoshop and Lightroom also cemented the Pro variant as the sensible choice of a DLSR replacement if you don’t own one just yet because the smartphone can do just as a good job, apparently. In short, if you take and edit pictures for a living, this is for you.
Price and Availability
The Xiaomi 13 series is available for preorders starting today and depending on how fast you act, you’ll get different things on different platforms so here’s the price for them. Don’t miss out on the TV if you’re finding one at the moment.
Oh yeah, there’s the limited edition package for the 13 Pro for the full digital companion set of smartwatch+TWS+powerbank trio which will take away 6 grand off your bank account but at SRP, it is close to 7 grand and a half so yeah, go baller if you can.
