The highly-anticipated Xiaomi 14 series is finally in Malaysia after like about… 2 weeks since the global release and actually after about 2 months since the release in China. Anyway, it’s finally here – and here are the full details.
Xiaomi 14
Both these phones within the Xiaomi 14 series are using the new Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset and the performance of them – is definitely going to be amazing. We have done the gaming test for the Xiaomi 14 – the small one – and it’s actually very formidable.
We also have the full review of the Xiaomi 14, where we go through the battery life, charging speed, the screen, HyperOS software, and also the cameras. For the price, I still think that the Xiaomi 14 is very competitive in that price range.
Xiaomi 14 Ultra
The main hero product of the Xiaomi 14 series – is the Ultra variant. This phone has the biggest, thickest camera that a phone has to date and promises great camera performance on a phone. Surprisingly, there is no “Pro” variant this time.
In collaboration with Leica, the Xiaomi 14 Ultra has 4 cameras at the back, ranging from 12mm to 120mm focal lengths. The thickness of this camera bump is mainly due to the large 1-inch LYT-900 sensor and the lens with f/1.63 to capture as much light as possible.
To further enhance the mobile photography experience, Xiaomi also has something called the Xiaomi 14 Ultra Photography Kit. It’s an accessory that we can install o the phone and add a camera grip on it. That way… the Xiaomi 14 Ultra literally becomes a conventional camera with that shutter button on the right forefinger.
Moreover, this thing does have a built-in 1,500mAh battery and functions as a power bank too.
The photography kit is also available as a separate purchase.
Price and availability
Both these phones will get 4 generations of Android OS upgrades and also 5 years of security patches and also comes with 100GB of Google One cloud storage for 6 months for free. The Xiaomi 14 and the Xiaomi 14 Ultra are available at these configurations and promotions.
