Just when we thought Samsung is creating some amazing product, here comes word that Samsung is creating a piece of Google Glass-like device. The picture above is the rumoured Samsung wearable heads-up patent.
Surely at first sight it looks like the next revision of Google Glass – as it does need look like it, except for the earpiece and the hook. However, the unnamed tipper told Business Korea that Samsung does indeed have a wearable smartglass coming up, and is claimed to be unveiled at the IFA in Berlin later in September.
Also, it seems like Samsung is calling this new piece of device the Gear Glass – supposing to be a part of the family of auxiliary devices that goes along with their Samsung phones, namely the Gear 2, Gear Fit, and the Gear Neo. Not only that, the source said that it’ll even be using the next-gen Tizen operating system instead.
Of course, this is still just a tipped rumour and no one knows if Samsung really does have something up their sleeves during the IFA. Then again, Google might release another variant of Android for smartglasses – just like that what did with smartwatches and Android Wear. All I can say now though is that the device doesn’t look anywhere near comfortable as there’s a large hood and requires that my right ear to be plugged in with an earpiece all the time.
