Samsung Pay is a definitely an ecosystem that I’ve been looking forward to for months. Here’s when and where Samsung Pay will be launched. 24th February at KLCC Center Court. Well – yeah, that sounds like a lackluster launch. That’s true. But of course, there’s more!
This is where Samsung spice things up with their daily giveaways. Just be the first 100 Samsung Pay users daily with 3 transactions (minimum of RM30 each) done within the same day, and get a Samsung Wireless Charger for free!That’s not all!

As for the list of bank partners who are taking a part in the whole Samsung Pay ecosystem, they are CIMB Bank, Citi, Maybank, and Standard Chartered. So what cards can be used? Visa and MasterCard – the uberly ubiquitous ones.

Samsung Pay Bank Partners exclusive giveaways:
- Citibank – For a month from the roadshow until 25th March 2017, Citibank is giving away one (1) Gear S3 and 25 Sakae Sushi e-vouchers worth RM20 daily to the highest number of transactions using Samsung Pay daily. All one needs to do is be sure to spend and pay using Samsung Pay during this promotion month.
- Maybank – Maybank is giving away as many as 50 units of the latest Samsung Galaxy S series smartphone to the highest Maybank card spender using Samsung Pay. From the roadshow until 31st May 2017, a minimum transaction of RM50 entitles the spender to an entry, while a cumulative spend of RM1,000 gets the spender an extra 100 bonus entries for better changes at winning the latest Samsung Galaxy S series smartphone! Additionally, Maybank cardholders can enjoy RM10 off next purchase voucher with a minimum spend of RM30 for purchases at Watson’s at the roadshow.
- Standard Chartered – For rewards on savings, Standard Chartered cardholders get to enjoy 20% cashback for payments made with Standard Chartered Bank cards on Samsung Pay. Just be sure to link your Standard Chartered credit cards to your Samsung device to receive up to RM100 of cashback per customer. As for merchant promotions, Standard Chartered cardholders can enjoy 30% discount for selected items at GNC during the Samsung Pay roadshow!

Simplicity is what I like the most!The final question here is – “will my Samsung smartphone support Samsung Pay?” Short answer is – maybe. It can be used on the Galax Note 5, Galaxy S7 edge or Galaxy S7, both the Galaxy A(2017) and Galaxy A(2016) series of smartphones.
