For those who have been following ASUS’s lineup of products for some time, you might have realized one particular series of smartphones that ASUS has – the Max lineup. This Max lineup of smartphones focuses on being budget-friendly and have a humongous battery. We review the ZenFone 3 Max 5.2-inch, ZenFone 3 Max 5.5-inch, and also the ZenFone 4 Max Pro – and my favorite is still the ZenFone 3 Max 5.5-inch. Then comes the all new ASUS ZenFone Max Plus – their first ever smartphone with 18:9 display.
Here are some of the specs from the information that we obtained:
- Codenamed ZB570TL (ASUS_X018D)
- 5.7-inch FullView Display in 5.2-inch body (sounds a lot like ASUS’s NanoEdge display)
- 4130mAh battery
- Face Unlock feature
- “Price-friendly”
Knowing ASUS’s smartphone naming scheme, the ZB570TL tells us quite a lot – it’s a 5.7-inch display (confirmed by their own promotional Facebook posts) and it’ll have a MediaTek chipset instead.
Through some of the other leaks that we have, the ASUS ZenFone Max Plus will have dual SIM, and supports 802.11 b/g/n WiFi. Presumably, it’s the same radio chip used on ASUS smartphones since the ZenFone 3 Zoom that we’ve reviewed here.
If you want to know how the phone looks, then you’re in luck – because this smartphone is already launched in China with the name Pegasus 4S.

From the images that we can find online, the Pegasus 4S uses a similar camera module as the ZenFone 4 Max Pro, meaning it’s a hybrid dual-lens camera system. You can learn more about dual-camera systems here.
As for the price, we know that it’s only going to be priced at 3 digits. RM999 is its maximum price, but I think ASUS is smart enough to not compete in that price range as of now.
Perhaps the ZenFone Max Plus will be priced at around RM799? That’ll be perfect, actually.
Pssssst – ASUS is having an event next Tuesday. It’s the grand launching the ZenFone Max Plus. We’ll definitely keep you updated with more information as we’ll be attending the event!
