Google recently partnered Huawei to release the best Nexus smartphone to date called Huawei Nexus 6P, and it’s the top notch Nexus device that is found in the market today. The letter “P” from the Nexus 6P stands for Premium, and holy OMG did Huawei pack all the best hardware they can find into this device!
2K AMOLED display, Qualcomm flagship Snapdragon 810 chipset, Android’s latest version 6.0 Marshmallow are just a few highlights that can be seen on the Nexus 6P out of the box. With a local retail price of RM2,698, the Nexus 6P does has a lot more to offer besides the top notch specifications provided on board.
Let us share with you SIX REASONS why you should buy the Nexus 6P, also dubbed as “The Best Nexus Smartphone to date”.
1. Gorgeous looking AMOLED screen
The Nexus 6P has an impressive a 5.7 inch 2K resolution with Super AMOLED panel – that means it has an amazing pixel density of 551PPI! The display even has enhanced protection with Corning Gorilla Glass 4 which makes it tougher than ever before.
Huawei chose AMOLED screen on the Nexus 6P because it offers great color reproduction and better view under the sun.
2. Pure Android with Marshmallow OS deliver best Android experience
Let’s get this straight – Android Source Open Project, or AOSP, also known as “vanilla Android”, is the version of Android that is the truest to what Google intended it to be – all short and simple, with no frills at all. That translates into the best performance obtainable from a system, as none of the hardware will need to work on unnecessary apps pre-baked into the phone itself.
That means vanilla Android guarantees no bloatware! Furthermore, being a Nexus series device also means that there’s future proof. Your phone will be one step ahead of others when it comes to software update as Google will definitely prioritize their own Nexus devices in receiving the latest updates right away.
3. Superb Stereo Speakers
We are glad that Google and Huawei understand what major consumers wanted – the best multimedia experience for the user, not those around the user. The inclusion of front-facing speakers that delivers clean, loud and distortion-free sound is pure bliss for those who consume multimedia on their smartphones!
4. Blazing fast Nexus fingerprint scanner
Now, I’ve played around with Huawei and Honor’s latest flagship smartphones – the Huawei Mate S and the Honor 7. They both have very similar hardware, and one thing that I’m certain is exactly the same is the fingerprint sensor. They’re the quickest and most sensitive fingerprint sensor I’ve ever tested!
Imagine this – the circle is the fingerprint reader, and I just have to place my finger on it and BAM! the phone unlocked itself instantly!
5. Best camera performance ever on a Nexus phone
Let’s be honest here – the Nexus 4 and 5 had horrible cameras. No matter how many updates Google pushed, the camera remains to be horrible. Google has finally listened to their customers and improved on the camera department – and it goes to show that Google is making punches to the competition.
The Nexus 6P’s camera performance scored 84 points and ranked on the third spot at DxOMark smartphone camera test ranking just behind Sony Xperia Z5 (87 points) and Samsung Galaxy S6 edge (86 points).
Despite lacking out an optical image stabilizer, its 12.3 megapixels with f/2.0 and 1.55 μm pixels sensor does live up to its standard. 4K or slow-motion video recordings works perfect without a hitch!
6. Beast Mode Battery Life with Doze feature
Battery endurance has become an important criteria when we are looking for a new smartphone. Previous generations Nexus smartphones fell short on this field. But the Nexus 6P is here to rewrite the history of weak battery life for Nexus series devices.
Packed with a 3,450 mAh size battery combine with Android 6.0 Marshmallow’s Doze feature, even heavy user like me can use the Nexus 6P for a full day without looking for a charger.
With the USB Type-C charging port that supports fast charging technology on board, it’s less of a hassle for us to plug the charger or power bank to charge up our phone.
