Personally speaking, I was thinking of picking one for myself a while back. I tested it myself, and I can tell you that the HP Spectre x360 comes in a solid aluminium build. Personally, I’m not too keen on the arrow keys area though. Other than that, it’s a machine that I would’ve picked up in an instant!
The screen and lid itself are milled out of a piece of aluminium, and everything feels absolutely sturdy. It packs a 13.3-inch 1080p IPS display with a full 360-degree rotating hinge (hence the x360 part) and a touch screen. Nothing too fancy in today’s standard of ultrabooks, actually.
What’s new about the HP Spectre x360 compared to its previous version, though?
Well, the battery has now been improved – bringing in what HP claims to be 15 hours of battery life, thanks to a bigger 57.8W battery, and the brand new 7th Generation Intel Core processors – Kaby Lake, for short. Weighing in at only 1.295kg and at a thinness of 13.8mm, this is indeed one of the most noteworthy ultrabooks to take note of.
For the first time ever, there’s finally a speedier charging protocol for laptops – and HP is calling it the HP Fast charge. They claim to charge the HP Spectre x360’s battery to 90% in just 90 minutes.
