This is not something that we get to see every day. We’ve talked about Transcend dashcams quite a lot of times here at Nasi Lemak Tech (e.g. here and here). While they’re not yet a necessity in many countries and to many people, they’re a cool piece of handy tech. However, Davao City Central 911 in the Philippines started using dashcams and body cams by Transcend to help improve their safety and efficiency. Here’s how.
Davao City Central 911 partnered with Transcend to get DrivePro 220 dashcams into ambulances and other vehicles. It has speed limit alerts, lane departure warning, and GPS coordinates to monitor the response team and rescue vehicles by going through the log files through WiFi connection. These logs even allow an audit in the response time and other procedures too, making it really simple to pinpoint their flaws and improve in the future.
As the DrivePro 220 keeps the vehicles in check, what about the task force themselves? Here’s where their partnership with Transcend grows deeper. They got the DrivePro Body 20 for all personnel, so everything is recorded and documented for future reference.
That’s actually really cool of Transcend to help Davao City Central 911 to mitigate issues surrounding abuse of power. I appreciate the fact that they can even improve their day-to-day operations too. Efficiency is key when it comes to search and rescue.
