Both the Samsung HW-K950 Soundbar and the Samsung UDB-K8500 Blu-ray Player are like a match made in heaven – they meant for each other. I feel that this complete setup is looking absolutely elegant in the living room. It’s minimalistic in design, but brings in a fantastic experience once everything is set up. The Samsung HW-K950 Soundbar has a total power of 500W – which is quite insane for a home theather system.
While this setup is a heavenly match made for an immersive AV experience, I think that it is absolutely fantastic for Samsung to add WiFi capability to both the Samsung HW-K950 Soundbar and the Samsung UDB-K8500 Blu-ray Player, so that their functionality can be expanded beyond just movie binging. Since the soundbar does support services like Spotify Connect, the whole house can enjoy fantastic tunes while waiting for friends to arrive. In the meantime, maybe watch a YouTube video on how to prepare some midnight snack before proceding with Netflix and Chill.
Come to think of it, I can even upscale 1080p videos taken by my smartphone to 4K resolution, since the Samsung UDB-K8500 Blu-ray Player is so ubiquitous in terms of functionality.
At a glance, the prices for both these items are quite hefty. The Samsung HW-K950 Soundbar is priced at RM 5,999, whereas the Samsung UDB-K8500 Blu-ray Player is priced at RM 1,799. For these two things alone, it clocks in at RM 7,798 in total – but it does bring an experience like no other.
