Throughout the year of 2017, we came across some of Apacer’s announcements for external hard disks, or eHDD, which are targeting a niche market. We even reviewed the AC730 – a military-grade shockproof and waterproof eHDD. Of course, Apacer isn’t stopping there and now they’ve announced the Apacer AC631.
In many ways, it’s pretty much the same as the AC630 that was announced a while back – the most noticeable change is the color scheme.
Of course, that’s not the only change. The all-new Apacer AC631 now has a 3D textured body at the top, which results in a scratch- and fingerprint-resistant surface. Other than that, it’s the same thing.
The Apacer AC631 still has the MIL-STD-810G 516.6 Procedure IV (Transit Drop Test) compliance, which means it can be dropped from a maximum height of 122cm and still be protected. The shock-absorbant rubber frame is still there, and it still has the cable storage slot too.
Its USB Type-A female connector has also been test-proven to endure 10,000 times plug and unplug cycles, which definitely gives us a piece of mind in terms of longevity.
The new Apacer AC631 is available in both 1TB and 2TB flavors and covered with Apacer’s 3-year warranty. Unfortunately, the AC631 is only available in blue color.
